So I went to Disney with my friend, his wife and my gf and let me tell you...

I hate Florida.

Really. I made it clear when we were heading there and that hatred has been reinforced.

Nevertheless, I rose above and persevered! It was a good time. I thoroughly enjoyed Epcot's Test Track ride.

Kinja'd!!!

The ride is sponsored by Cheverolet and greets you with this lovely little concept, the Tru . Looked quite a bit like an Eclipse from the side, but whatever. It piqued my interest as we moved along the line.

We walked through a very "modern" series of rooms and ended up at a bunch of touch screens where whoever was riding in your car could customize a vehicle (coupe, truck or "Smart" shaped base options) that would be tested. You had three minutes (I could have used 10 easily...SO MANY OPTIONS!) to come up with a vehicle with various drive train options, exterior shape and wheels in an effort to maximize your total point value (power, capability, efficiency, and responsiveness).

Kinja'd!!!

My girlfriend and I rushed and took a MOAR POWERRRR approach to the stats. The shape was what I wanted though the wheels and add-ons were pretty much random as each option changes the stats and we didn't have time to evaluate all the options.

You eventually end up on a little vehicle that can fit three people. This vehicle is brought along a track through a very Tron-esque series of "tests" for efficiency (wind tunnel), capability ("off road"), responsiveness (AHHHHH A TRUCK! moose test) and power (65 mph loop outside). It was fun because of the whole interactive piece with your vehicle being rated and ranked against those around you. When you get off the ride you can see how you stacked up against others that day.

The best part, though, was what was waiting when I exited the ride.

Kinja'd!!!

Helloooooo nurse!

There was one of each car option waiting for people to sit in, check out, etc. Not much different from a dealership floor so most people moved on. But wait...what do I see in the corner over there?

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

It was the new Colorado (in almost the exact spec I would want!). The pictures I online thusfar have left me a little concerned about the car-like qualities of the front and interior but seeing this in person certainly helped. It was roped off and had no information posted so the best I could do was take these pics and snoop inside from behind the rope. The interior looked comfortable and well organized. Dash with the touchscreen was well integrated and overall I really liked it. Not a small truck by any stretch of the imagination so the mid-sized moniker is dead on.

Went to a Chevy dealer yesterday to inquire about any spec sheets but they don't expect any until maybe next week at the earliest.

If you go to Epcot, check out the ride.

Florida isn't that bad.

That being said, I'm loving the Colorado more and more each time I see it. By the time the diesel arrives I should have the Kia paid off, and then I'll have a decision to make.

I went to Epcot when that attraction was in renovations 2 years ago. And yeah, Florida was really weird, compared to Canada.

It's like the TC of Chevy's world, I guess. Haha.

I could be like a kid with unlimited money in Toys R Us with the customization options on Test Track. That concept at the front is different than the one that I saw when I went last Thanksgiving.

You truly are, a better man than I.

It rained.

Every.

Fucking.

Day.

And that's not to say the weather was bad. It was sunny, then it was partly cloudy, then it rained for hours, then it was sunny.

It's just a pain to prep for, idk, four different weather patterns while walking around all day and remain comfortable.

Oh, and it was humid as shit.

I had fun, still, but dammit Florida.

When was this? We are going next week (fall break at my sons school). Was hoping the weather would be perfect this time of year.

I just got back on Saturday. Turns out that late September is the rainiest time of year (gf's company has an office in Orlando and someone filled her in as we were leaving). They told her that it was abnormally humid as well while we were there. Hopefully you get some of the good weather.

I hope so too. Everytime I've been to Florida it's rained everyday. Usually for just 30 mins in the afternoon though.

Dude, Summer in Florida is THE WORST. November/December is when things finally get nice.

But damn, summer is brutal. When it's not 95 degrees, it's 90 with 100% humidity.

It poured most of Tuesday...we were soaked even with ponchos haha. But it was warm so while everyone hid we hopped on Splash Mountain and Thunder Railroad...no lines.

I really wanted to go on the ride again and stand at the screens customizing everyone's vehicles.
